Geraldo Valerio was born in Brazil. He graduated from the School
of Fine Arts, at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He received
a Master of Arts degree from New York University in 2000. He has
illustrated many books in Brazil, Portugal, Canada and the United
States. His most recent works are Busy, Busy Birds and My Book of
Butterflies, both published by Groundwood Books. Geraldo lives
