“Building a home out of poems” is the title of the new poems written by Mar Benegas. Each one of them talks in a festive tone about the importance of feeling at home. There are haikus, songs, poems dedicated to seasons, to a house areas, and to parties. The author talks about her poems proposing the following thoughts: “And what if each poem is a house? Each word a nest? Maybe it’s a tree house. Childhood eyes are two windows. For this reason, being the voice of a poem means living in our childhood home. Our childhood home always has to be inhabited. We need healing words and singing verses. Because in each room there’s a memory to shape. In each room you can listen to the birds singing. And each memory holds the trees branches, it let the season fly, o lightens up the sun and the stars. And the verses are places. Places that you build with words and that the memories will inhabit.”
