“Dad comes and goes. Like day and night”. Dad is never home, but when he is he tells his son fantastic tales, all contained in the tattoos drawn all over his body. These are tales of adventure, where dad has to fight against a two-tailed tiger, gigantic birds, never ending anacondas, hungry spiders. Mom and dad appear as well in the stories: they meet on a train, go to a sinister circus, lose a brooch that dad finds many years later in the belly of a fish. And there’s the son as well: jumping out of a running car and falling right into his dad’s arms a few kilometres later. These are witty and imaginative stories that talk of love, friendship, family ties, and of the importance of creating fantastic worlds all around us.
