Death is a person, actually a lot of people. Each one of them goes to school to learn how to become death, and one day will be in charge of the deaths of a specific world area. The narrator of this story, is a little death who goes to school, where he has friends and tries to understand the meaning of what his work will be. There’s plenty of things to learn: for instance the difference between a “parca” and a “parka”, or that death is inevitable and that is useless trying to avoid it. It is something that exists, whether death herself likes or not, it is her own job. The story plays with Mexican and European imaginary about death, and Arianne Faber, the illustrator of this book, creates a nice and almost likable death character.
