Saki was Hector Hugo Munro’s pseudonym. He was born in 1870 in Akyab, Burma (now Myanmar). He was raised by two strict and severe aunts in England, whom he would later on characterize in his works. He worked as a journalist of the Westminster Gazette. He was corresponsal of The Morning Post in Russia, Paris and the Balcans. During World War I he enrolled the army. He died in 1916 in France. His stories are considered masterpieces of the English literature and are characterized for being satires of the eduardian society.
